For this years PBS art auction I donated this piece titled  Guinevere. I was happy to see it generate some interested sell after several bids.

 Guiniever is carved from a piece of Alder wood that I purchased on Ebay. I started at a top corner that was chipped and let the piece evolve from there. About half way through the carving process I was startled by a side view that reminded me of a medieval print I had seen of a lady of the court in a garden. This lead my to name the piece for Guiniever.

 Often when I am confronted with the blank space of a new work I will begin with a line drawing or with circles. The pieces will grow from there until I achieve a balanced composition that has a tension and beauty to i
