A brief history. I was born in 1957 in Boulder Colorado. Where I also grew up. I graduated from Fairview HS in 1976. I have training in welding, heavy equipment operation and running a water treatment plant. I am self taught in photography, digital art, sculpture and woodworking. I began showing in 2003 and decided to get serious in 2005. I retired from the city of Broomfield in December of 2005 so I would have the time I wanted to make art. At the present time I'm working part time for the local school district mostly the for health insurance. For the last 30 years or so my artistic bent has leaked out in small ways. Boxes, doodles and other small unacknowledged ways. In the 1990's I took up photography. At a certain point I was looking into setting up a color darkroom and decided to go digital. The first program I purchased was Painter 5. This led to doing abstract drawings and the manipulation of photos. As I became more serious I explored more mediums. This led me back to carving which I had done a little of in my teens Sculpture has become my love. when I'm carving, time and the world goes away. I was a part of a small show in Denver in 2004. I wanted to show some of the small sculptures I had done but we didn't have any pedestals. So I built a small ash table to display my pieces on. This table was very popular and I have built and sold a number since. I am presently showing at the Muse gallery in Longmont.
